I haven't been arguing with my wife lately
I do not feel life, or death
Rub up against my ankles.
And we eat toast harmoniously
We install our software updates on time, now
And I have not recently stormed out the front door to the unblinking midnight air so vast that it cannot see me with it's naked eye
Nor stumbled shivering back to her to find out if I'm still welcome in my only home

We don't despair yet.
Snow thaws.
And a bear that sleeps all winter wakes up hungry
